GetSetUp is on a mission to help those over 55 learn new skills, connect with others, and unlock new life experiences. The social learning platform helps more than 4.6 million older adults in 160 countries stay mentally and physically fit, creates economic opportunities through jobs and reskilling, and provides a community where people find meaning and purpose by sharing their knowledge and passions and forming new connections. THE OPPORTUNITY.
The digital divide and social isolation are real problems for those over the age of 50, 24% of Americans 65+ are considered socially isolated and 43% of Americans 60+ feel lonely – many are cut off from vital services and connections. Older adults can continue to thrive, but there needs to be a safe place for them to learn, socialize, and connect. Furthermore, many need to upskill and reskill to remain employed and financially secure because less than half of those in retirement have retirement savings.
We believe that older adults have incredible knowledge to share and new mountains (literally and figuratively) to climb, but until now they haven’t had their own place to pursue their passions and continue creating, growing, and giving back. We celebrate and empower older adults because we know they have much more to do and give. We provide live, interactive classes for older adults to learn and connect. All of our creators are older adults teaching their peers. Community members can easily access our services through our customized video platform built for older adults to remove friction and offer diverse levels of access and interaction in a safe, secure, and empowering environment with live onboarding and customer support. Our over 100 government, community and health partners can help improve the mental, physical, and social health of their members through expanded access, customized classes, and many more services.

We are committed to helping those over 55 learn new skills, connect with others, and unlock new life experiences. We know older adults have much to give and learn and we equip and empower them to keep growing and feeding their hunger for knowledge. We are a virtual community where people learn with peers in a non-judgmental, supportive environment, where friendships form.
When we surveyed Learners, over two-thirds of the people (67%) surveyed would be more satisfied if their health plan offered GetSetUp as a health benefit. Furthermore, people’s well-being improved from being part of the GetSetUp community, compared to their lives before. Some learners’ happiness scores went up by 90%, compared to before they joined GetSetUp.
Learners’ mental engagement improved by an average of 26%, which helps reduce the risk of premature dementia. In addition to that, 31% of Learners rated their physical health as very good or excellent after becoming members of the community, compared to just 7% before joining. Better physical health in later life can help prevent falls, increase blood flow to vital organs, and be a mood lifter warding off issues like depression.
Motivation went up by an average of 28%, with some Learners stating a 90% improvement after joining the community. This, along with an average increase of 29% in self-development and an average 25% increase in tech capabilities, all support Learner’s choice to work longer or seek a new role or challenge.
